Event Program
DMEA – Advanced Clinical Training Program in Curaçao The DMEA Advanced Clinical Training Program in Curaçao is a practice-oriented continuing education concept designed for licensed physicians and dentists with prior surgical experience. The program aims to teach modern oral surgical and interdisciplinary techniques at the highest clinical level — structured, safe, and with maximum hands-on focus. Course Content The core curriculum focuses on advanced augmentation and implantology procedures, including: • Lateral and vertical ridge augmentation • Sinus lift techniques • Implant planning and placement • Soft tissue management • Complication management ⸻ Course Structure – Progressive Hands-On Concept The DMEA program follows a clearly structured four-day training format:
Day 1 & 2 – Theory and Practical Training • Comprehensive theoretical foundation covering indications, planning, and surgical protocols • Practical training on anatomical models and porcine mandibles • Step-by-step instruction by experienced faculty • Intensive supervision in small groups During this phase, all relevant techniques are practiced under realistic conditions to ensure maximum safety and confidence before clinical application.
Day 3 & 4 – Live Patient Surgeries On the following two days, the previously trained techniques are applied directly in live surgical procedures. • One participant performs the surgery • An experienced instructor assists chairside • The operating surgeon wears magnification loupes equipped with an integrated camera • The procedure is streamed in real time to the adjacent conference room • The remaining participants follow the surgery live and are guided through each step by a second instructor This concept allows for: • Maximum transparency • Real-time discussion and interaction • Immediate analysis of surgical decision-making • Optimal transfer from simulation training to clinical reality ⸻ Charity Component & Capacity Building A central element of the DMEA concept is the combination of advanced education and social responsibility. Patients are selected through local charity initiatives and receive access to high-quality surgical treatment that would otherwise be limited or unavailable to them. At the same time, the program is designed to support local colleagues in Curaçao in acquiring and further developing advanced surgical skills, thereby strengthening long-term clinical capacity within the region. ⸻ Our Philosophy The DMEA program represents: • Maximum clinical relevance • Structured surgical excellence • Collegial knowledge transfer • Sustainable skill development • Responsible, charity-driven patient care DMEA is more than a course — it is an intensive, hands-on advanced training experience that combines clinical excellence, international collaboration, and meaningful impact.
